We had English Communication class last Thursday.
\n<\/span>The students made some questions and asked them <\/span>to Kevin sensei, our new ALT.
\n\uff08\u5148\u9031\u306e\u6728\u66dc\u65e5\u306b\u82f1\u8a9eC\u306e\u6388\u696d\u304c\u3042\u308a\u307e\u3057\u305f\u3002\u751f\u5f92\u306f\u8cea\u554f\u3092\u8003\u3048\u3001\u305d\u308c\u3092\u65b0\u3057\u3044ALT\u306e\u30b1\u30d3\u30f3\u5148\u751f\u306b\u305f\u305a\u306d\u307e\u3057\u305f\u3002\uff09<\/span><\/p>\n

A lot of students made unique questions and enjoyed asking them in English!
\n<\/span>They said even though their English was not good enough, they were very happy they could communicate with Kevin sensei in English.
\n<\/span>Also, they discovered some cultural differences between Japan and the US.
\n\uff08\u591a\u304f\u306e\u751f\u5f92\u304c\u30e6\u30cb\u30fc\u30af\u306a\u8cea\u554f\u3092\u8003\u3048\u3001\u82f1\u8a9e\u3067\u8cea\u554f\u3059\u308b\u3053\u3068\u3092\u697d\u3057\u307f\u307e\u3057\u305f\uff01\u300c\u82f1\u8a9e\u304c\u5b8c\u74a7\u3067\u306f\u306a\u304b\u3063\u305f\u3051\u308c\u3069\u3001\u81ea\u5206\u306e\u82f1\u8a9e\u304c\u901a\u3058\u3066\u3046\u308c\u3057\u304b\u3063\u305f\u300d\u3068\u3044\u3046\u751f\u5f92\u306e\u611f\u60f3\u304c\u591a\u304f\u3042\u308a\u307e\u3057\u305f\u3002\u4e2d\u306b\u306f\u3001\u65e5\u672c\u3068\u30a2\u30e1\u30ea\u30ab\u306e\u6587\u5316\u306e\u9055\u3044\u306b\u8208\u5473\u3092\u3082\u3063\u305f\u751f\u5f92\u3082\u3044\u307e\u3057\u305f\u3002\uff09

At the end of class, the students wrote messages for Kevin sensei.\u00a0 Many students recommended that he eats Okayama peaches!

\nI know from first-hand experience how intimidating it can be to speak a foreign language, so I was very impressed by the students during this lesson. Each student came up with three questions and asked them to me one-on-one, that takes courage! Most importantly, they weren\u2019t afraid to make mistakes. Through this lesson I was able to learn a lot about the students’ interests and Japan. For example, a few times I was asked \u201cDo you like Kinoko no Yama or Takenoko no Sato more?\u201d Admittedly,\u00a0 I didn\u2019t know what either of those were at the time so I couldn\u2019t answer it, but now I know new snacks to try. I hope that this experience speaking English will encourage students to continue trying their best and not be afraid to make mistakes. I was very happy with this lesson, and judging by the faces of the students during it, I think that they enjoyed it too!<\/span><\/p>\n
